uLead provides a forum to bring together young professionals with the purpose of understanding, educating, and acting on the mission of The Luv u Project: To set a quantifiable agenda and take responsible actions that advance the understanding of, and treatments for, mental health issues. As Carolyn Mattingly so beautifully and effortlessly demonstrated, out of luv, uLead. Members of uLead come together to discuss the different components of mental illness and strategize how to raise awareness about this social issue.
- We will hold quarterly events in fun, social venues throughout the Washington, DC metro area. Some events will involve structured agendas with keynote speakers, while others will be more casual. Each event is aimed at discussing social needs related to breaking down the barriers around mental health issues and awareness.
- A career-building program that provides opportunities to network and expand professional and social circles, uLead brings together professionals with diverse skill sets and career paths.
- An annual fundraiser led by uLead members will benefit the larger mission of The Luv u Project.
- We encourage young professionals who are committed to advancing the needs of mental health awareness to join uLead. Membership entails an initial one-year commitment to the program and an active effort to recruit others to join.
